Wine Pairing Lesson: White is not compatible to everything

I always have preferred White or Sparkling Wine over Red Wine be it in any occasion, but not with food. It never crossed my mind to drink wine while eating. I eat food or pulutan when drinking local beers or hard liquors but not with Wine. I guess I find it redundant to spend on food when you’re already drinking an expensive wine (I know. I’m super thrifty. It’s annoying lol).

Food and Wine Pairing 101

Last February 4 at the Sugbo Mercado Garden Bloc in Cebu IT Park, D+B Wine Shop hosted a Food and Wine Pairing. They had us taste some of their Fat Bastard Wine Collection paired with different Filipino dishes like Ngohiong, BBQ, Lechon Belly, and other foods like Baked Scallops, Pad Thai, Ham, Mini-Burgers and other finger foods.

After D+B Wines‘ Food and Wine Pairing, I finally learned that (as a rule) White Wine does not go well with meat and Red does well with almost anything. But if your with friends and families, you can disregard that rule. Experiment. A great time with people that matters to you most goes well with any wine!

Thanks to D+B Wine Shop for the Food and Wine Pairing 101
