KnowCebu is also known for featuring a different group of friends, or the Squad Goals of the day. These groups are really different from one another. There could be groups made up of high school buddies, college buddies or childhood buddies. But no matter how different these groups are, a squad isn’t a squad without this one friend, and we all have this one friend.
With these 10 different types of people in every Squad, which one are you?
Friend #1: The friend who is always just “Padung na ko”
Everyone appears at the designated time but there’s this one friend who’s guaranteed not to make it on time. And when you call that friend, all he/she says is “Padung na ko” and you guys automatically know that “Padung na ko” means “Nag-ilis pa”, “Nagimpake pa”, “Nagkaon pa ko” or worse, “Mao pay pagmata.”
Friend #2: The “Lola/Lolo material” friend
Friend 1: “Basin naligsan na tos kuan maong wa pa maabot”
Lola/Lolo material friend: “Oy ayaw gud ana, mababa-an gani ka, simbako ka diha *knocks on a wood*”
Friend #3: The Mother/Father-material friend
This is the friend who leads the group and plans everything, holds the group money, and scolds everyone for being too noisy or messy. This is also the friend whom your parents trust.
You: “Kuyog bitaw si mother/father material friend, Ma”
Mom: “Aw okay sige.”
This is also the same friend who’ll sometimes ask permission from your parents in your behalf, or whom the parents call when you are out of reached.
Friend #4: The OOTD at all times friend (overdressed at times)
This is the friend who always wants to look bomb in the group. This is the girl who wears combat boots when traveling, and wears aqua socks when you go swimming or the guy who is always on a fuckboy starter pack look. This is the friend who looks a little more presentable than everyone else in the group, and the one with the messiest closet for sure.
Friend #5: The “Best in Hair and makeup”
This is the friend whose kilay is always on fleek (Kilay is Life), whose eyelashes are always curled, whose lips are always pink and whose cheeks are always red. The friend who goes back to the van late when you go to a bus stop, not because she spent a lot of time eating, but because she spent a lot of time in the CR retouching.
Friend #6: The friend who memorizes every song played on the radio
This is the friend who doesn’t seem to sleep the whole time traveling, because they know the lyrics of every song played in the car.
Friend #7: The friend who is always on his/her phone
Most of the time, this is the TAKEN friend whose girlfriend/boyfriend isn’t part of the squad. This friend also takes squad photos not for memories or for posting, but because he/she is going to send it to his/her girlfriend/boyfriend as proof he/she is with them (and not flirting with someone else). And this is also the friend who isn’t around most of the time, and says “Busy sa school”, but in reality “Dili mo sugot akong baby.”
Friend #8: The Instagram-conscious friend
Sounds familiar?
“Picturi ko nga kanang nagtalikod, tarung ug angle, dalha ang background jud”
“Unsay nindot na filter?”
“Asay mas bagay sa akong feed?”
Friend #9: The pa-good daughter/pa-good son friend
That line!
“AYAW KO I-TAG SA PICTURE HA KAY MAKIT-AN NI MAMA, ANA BYA KO NGA NAG HIMO KOG PROJECT”
Friend #10: The friend who doesn’t shut up and we also don’t want him/her to shut up
This friend is obviously the life of the party,. The one who knows what to say, who knows how to make everyone laugh, and the friend that we all push or we call whenever we need someone to speak for the group.
