SEE Cebu: an event to promote comics, animation and games by Cebuanos

Local creative industries collaborate to generate awareness about the creative entertainment media.

Sugbo Entertainment Expo (SEE) Cebu, is an event hosted by homegrown creative studios that aims to highlight comics, animation, and games by local artists and techies set this June 2-3 at the Atrium of Robinsons Galleria.

The event is free for admission and will have talks from industry pros, presentations, title launches, and more. It is open for everybody who loves pop culture especially the youth, the business sector, consumers, and other creators and creative groups who share the same passion.

This is “to see them [local creators] be inspired, educated, and enlightened. We aim to spread awareness of the local comics, animation, and games sectors here in Cebu,” said Enigma Workz Chairman and Founder, Lawrence Panganiban. “To create a platform that will develop, showcase, and enhance the local creative entertainment and gather support that will kickstart the industry,” he added.

SEE Cebu is a joint project spearheaded by the startup comic studio, Enigma Workz, together with Cebu Animation Guild (CAG) and Plague Art Studios. It is part of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (CCCI) flagship project, Cebu Business Month (CBM).

Initially conceived as a continuation of Cebu Entertainment Launch Pad (CELP) in August 2014, Enigma Workz then decided to evolve it and create a better event. With the support of CCCI, they partnered with CAG and Plague Arts Studios to make SEE Cebu a reality.
