Ninth Season Launch of iHeartPH Show by TV8

‘Build it Right Guide’ is the 9th Season’s focus on building better, affordable homes

TV8 Media Productions has launched the ninth season of iHeartPH on September 23, 2024 (Sunday) via GMA’s analog and digital platforms.

This season, the show will feature a ‘Build it Right Guide’ segment that aims to creatively educate lower-income homeowners on how to build better homes and do them affordably. It is estimated that more than 1.6 million houses exist without foundations in the country. In Cebu for example, research reveals that aside from 36% of Cebu families that have no foundations, there are 28% more that are also in need of foundation retrofits. A separate profiling study in Mandaue City further reveals that at least 20% have poor-quality walls evidenced by cracks, moisture, and decay, among others. Additionally, Filipinos compromise the quality of their walls and foundations due to their misguided decisions in prioritizing repairs and renovations. This highlights how knowledge is a key factor for homeowners to build correctly—which is the inspiration for the ‘Build it Right Guide’ segment of iHeartPH.

This season is the result of a co-investment partnership between TV8 and Habitat for Humanity’s Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter in the Philippines. The partnership focuses on the development of a consumer education program on appropriate housing solutions to help ensure lower-income households in the Philippines have improved information and motivation to build better homes, including walls and foundations.

The segment aims to reach iHeartPH’s audience segment, who are also households sitting within the lower-middle income (C2) and low-income (D) market segments. Based on the Terwilliger Center’s data, these households often build homes by themselves but do not have the information on how to them properly.  The segment will also feature social media influencers, some of which are already in the housing and construction space, as co-hosts and guest experts.

iHeartPH is TV8’s homegrown program that has been intentionally put up to spread “good vibes” and uplift the image and lives of Filipinos. This season will run for 13 episodes and will air every Sunday from 10:00am to 10:30am.
