I love anything about Filipino food – from vegetables, soup, dessert to traditional and regional Filipino delicacies. I’m thrifty and I don’t mind spending more for food as long as it is worth it. BUT if it’s the same food selection with same taste or minimal difference, PRICE matters to me than the name of the restaurant.
The Filipino Restaurants in the Malls in Cebu City are usually OKAY. Just OKAY because even if the food is actually delicious, the serving size is too small for the price I’m paying (as I’ve said, I’m thrifty). Hikay has 2 branches – one in Calyx Building, Cebu IT Park and the other one in SM City Cebu. What I love about Hikay is its authentic Filipino taste with its dishes (not bland, just the right amount of salt and spices) and affordability. Just to emphasize on AFFORDABILITY, a Filipino Restaurant in Ayala Mall that sounds like Hikay got us a bill of around Php2,700+ including drinks for 5 Filipino dishes for a group of 8 pax. With Hikay Celebrations, we only got a bill of around Php1,800+ for a group of 8 pax and 6 Filipino dish. That’s my Hikay Experience, amazing right?
