Why get a sedan when you can have a Ford Territory SUV at the same price?
Choosing your first car is a bit challenging for some. In my case, I really didn’t know anything about cars, brands or features. The main factor I considered was the total cost, monthly amortization and practicality. As long as it’s within my budget and decent, it’s good for me. Hence, I settled for a Sedan. Biggest regret.
I got the chance to test drive the new Ford Territory Trend over the weekend. It’s a good thing that Cebu City and Cebu province was downgraded to MGCQ that I was able to take this SUV to a long drive going South of Cebu for a much needed quick escape from the city after having stayed at home for more than 6 months since the Pandemic began last March 2020.
First thing I noticed with the Ford Territory was its dashboard and the wide touchscreen. Unlike other car touchscreen, you can drag the screen menu from the A/C, settings, Bluetooth and radio feature. It feels like you’re using a smart tablet.
And unlike the sedan, the leather interiors and ample leg room in the front and back seat is ideal for starting families and young professionals who love to travel with friends. Drivers and passengers can say goodbye to leg cramps especially on long drives!
While driving, a noticeable feature with this SUV is its ability to accelerate faster compared to sedans. I own a 2019 model sedan but Ford Territory’s 1.5L EcoBoost engine made it seem like my car is an ‘outdated’ model. A slight press at the accelerator pedal will make the SUV go to 60km/hr. And even at that speed, the SUV doesn’t ‘shake’ unlike if you drive a sedan at high speed.
So from Cebu City to Lambug Beach in Badian (with a brief stop over at the Public Market in Carcar City to buy the famous Carcar lechon and chicharon), it only took us 3 hours to drive traveling a total of 102 kilometers.
And the best part on why you should get the Ford Territory Trend is its price. It retails for only Php1,179,000 with applicable shipping fees for customers outside Metro Manila. It’s almost similar to a Sedan in price but a lot way better!
