Who is OurHouse?

OurHouse is a proud Cebuano theater and entertainment brand. The group is composed of mainly Cebuano talents all fueled by their appetite to establish a strong theater outfit in Cebu. OurHouse leverages on different materials – from fun and lighthearted to deep and profound, directed to bring awareness to relevant subjects in our community and in the process, creating a positive change.

We live by the following values: Smart, Authentic, Passionate, Collaborative, Professional, and Disciplined.

At OurHouse, we aspire to enrich lives through theater.

What makes OurHouse unique?

Cebu’s theater scene is starting to flourish again with different groups staging musicals and straight plays. Our niche is staging and performing monologues and soliloquies by using different literature like poetry, features, and narratives. Unlike spoken word wherein the art is primarily focused on the aesthetics of word play and intonation, our style is focused on the integrity of the piece by injecting characterization, realism, emotion memory, and dramatic analysis.

We also aspire to make our theater presentations mobile and accessible. This means that aside from performing in a traditional theater stage, we go around the different parts of the city like in malls, cafes, bars, etc.

Our House 1

Love Confessions is the maiden production of OurHouse. It presents poignant and truthful stories, which despite its breathtaking swirl of conflict and moments of brilliance, is nicely balanced overall with the simplicity of its staging – actors on stage telling varied stories. It features the literary pieces of Sarah Kaye, Phil Kay, Zuela Herrera, Juan Miguel Severo, and Pip Compra among others. It was first staged in Benedicto College last October and had a re-run at Qube Gallery last February 14 with its unplugged version.

Love Confessions: #KnowYourStatus is a show sponsored by CebuPlus in celebration of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial last May 2016.
