Travel Tips: Dau Falls, Samboan Cebu

DAU FALLS is the highest waterfall in Samboan. It is one of the best waterfalls I’ve been to in the south of Cebu. Instead of going to the beach this summer, why not try something different?

HOW TO GET THERE

?From Cebu South Bus Terminal

Take a Ceres bus bound for Bato via Barili. Fare is P170. Tell the bus driver to drop you off at Samboan town proper. Travel time is about 4 hours. Then hire a motorcycle (habal-habal) going to Barangay Suba, Samboan. Fare is P30-P50 (no fixed rate). Travel time is 20-30 minutes.

?From Dumaguete

Go to Sibulan Wharf and take a fast craft going to Liloan Wharf. Travel time is around 20 minutes. Then ride a bus bound for Bato.

OTHER EXPENSES

Entrance Fee- P20 for locals
P40 for foreigners

Tour guide- No fixed rate. Just please give them a decent amount for their service. In our case, we paid P100.

TRAVEL TIPS

✔️Guide/s will be assigned to you upon paying the registration fee.
✔️Mobile signal is okay.
✔Always check the weather before your visit. Climbing the waterfalls can be too risky when it’s raining.
✔Pack light.
✔Bring sufficient water and snacks.
✔Wear proper footwear.
✔Be extra careful. The trail is both rocky and muddy. It may take you around 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
✔Do not litter. Bring your trash with you. Be a responsible traveler!
