How to Love the Shitty Part of Yourself
7 Common Things You Hate about Yourself that You should Start Loving
No matter what we say, we are full of flaws. And what’s the best way to do it? Love it!
The elusive self-love concept is very common to us. But ironically, we fail to do it for we don’t understand what it truly means. John Amodeo clearly said it in his “What it really means to love yourself” that “self-love means finding peace within ourselves — resting comfortably within the depths of our being… a deeper inner peace requires cultivating a certain way of being with ourselves — a warm and nurturing attitude toward what we experience inside.” To put it simply, loving the flaws is doing something to correct it.
Here are some common things you hate about yourself that you should start loving:
#1 I’m a Loser
Failure. Unsuccessful. No one. These are just some of the negative connotations paired to being a loser. Realistically, no one’s a loser. Some are just late bloomers. An old proverb says that a diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections. Denial of this is depriving yourself to become a better you. Embrace it and make it your motivation to help you strive hard on your way to success.
#2 I Hate being always Late
Who said there’s no good about it? Scientific study found out that late comers are optimistic, multi-tasker and creative. But don’t you ever make these your excuses!
#3 I am Insecure
Insecurities are toxic and poisons in our minds, bodies and souls. But if used as motivational factor for a better you, then why not? You need to be in secure, not insecure.
#4 I eat a lot that’s why I am FAT
If you have variety of food to eat, be thankful for these blessings. Not all can eat the food that you have and money to buy it. However, be conscious of eating beyond what your body needs. If you hate that you eat a lot that’s why you are fat, be thankful too for you have a reason to exercise. Remember, eating equates to exercise.
#5 I’m a HOT HEAD (I lose my temper easily)!
Love yourself for being hot headed because it tells you that you have control problems to correct. But before you explode, try to get the bigger picture before reacting. That’s the basic solution to people like you. Take a deep breath and count one to ten.
#6 I am Ugly
No one’s ugly. You’re just consumed of how beauty is being perceived by society. There’s no standard in beauty. Don’t allow society to dictate what is beautiful and not. Appreciating yourself would help you get over it and that you recognize there is something valuable in it. Be proud!
#7 I Hate that I easily Fall in Love
Falling in love is the greatest feeling one could ever experience. Why hate it? Remember emotions are based on brain activity. So, before you feel it, you think of it.
Self-hate will bring you nowhere. Growing it more negatively will destruct you. And you wouldn’t want that, do you? So, recognize your flaws, embrace it and love it! Remember: Loving the flaws is doing something to correct it.
