8 Reasons To Enjoy Single Life On New Year’s Eve
“I know it’s tough to be single around this time of year, so…” – Why do people always say that?! To all uncommitted folks out there, like me, I’d say “Hat’s off to us!” You’ve survived the holidays being single (wink). And soon you’ll no longer have to withstand all the things about why you’re not in a relationship.
Here are a 8 reasons to celebrate being single to power you through 2017!
- “New Year’s Eve” is synonymous with “party” and not a romantic night with your dog or a movie marathon thing. So? Get your butt of the couch, dress yourself up and go out for the night. No one can rock out at a party better than your single self. Live it up!
- If you’re in a relationship, a romantic New Year’s Eve in and do the wine-and-takeout can be a great idea. But, what if your partner grudgingly going along with other’s plans? If you’re single, this is not a problem. You can stay in and do whatever you want. You can go out and do whatever you want. You can do both!
- Being single doesn’t mean you’re alone. Team up with one of your single friends to make sure neither of you focus on not having a man/woman. There is no greater time for a “barkada” night out than New Year’s Eve.
- You’re the chief of this day, man. You can be spontaneous. Dressing up, going out, and buzzing in the New Year with random strangers. Who knows? One of whom may be your new BFF, may be your future man/woman or new found friends. Command the night whatever and wherever you want and bring your friends.
- You can be cynical for the night otherwise, and turn a new leaf in the morning. Sometimes, it’s been a bad day, or season, or relationship and you just need a good day off from being the “happy single gal/boy”. No judgement. Just take a break.
- You may have friends who are a couple that couldn’t be more in love, but leave their relationship goals solo for the night. Going out with a couple will only remind you that you’re single for the New Year. Being single isn’t a bad thing, but watching them celebrate their relationship will make you think it is.
- Since it’s the tail end of the holiday season, this is the ultimate final hurrah, and everybody is so cheerful. It’s the perfect time to mingle and celebrate. Your happiness can really be determined by your mindset. So let go of feeling alone and say hello to the freedom that is the single life! No drama, pop that cork. Cheers!
- Say goodbye to the past year by kicking off the New Year as the life of the party. This is a time for celebration, so let loose and have some fun! You’re free and independent to be selfish and live for yourself. Don’t think too much about what is ahead of the New Year but instead, celebrate it because you made it to another year.
