Want something adventurous this summer with just minimal budget? Go caving for only 100 php!
HOW TO GET TO IGOTAN CAVE:
1. From Tabuan, you are to take a jeepney going to Tabunok for only 10 php. You are to inform the driver that you are heading to Jaclupan. The driver will then drop you off to a market-like place.
2. From there, you can take a jeepney going to Brgy. Igotan (inform the driver that you are en route to the cave) for 8 php. If you dont want any hassle, you can choose to to take a motorcycle (habal-habal) for 25 pesos. The habal-habal driver will you drop you off to the “red bridge”.
3. If you choose to take the jeepney, the driver will drop you off to “Eskina Acacia”. From their main road, you have to take a little walk to the red bridge which can be easily identified.
4. From the bridge, keep right. You will be heading down a rocky path. From there, ask the locals where the cave is.
5. Viola! You have found it. Now you have to pay 5 pesos for the gate entrance and 25 pesos for the cave entrance. The cave is not so big so prepare to crawl! Real adventure begins.
6. It will just take less than 20 minutes to reach the end of the cave, the Igotan Falls. Yes, there is a falls inside the cave. You take a shower there if you want to!
PS: You can walk barefoot inside the cave or better yet, wear trekking sandals. Also, you can bring your flashlight (though the guide provides). The cave is really dark.
Enjoy your adventure with friends!
After caving, you can also pay a visit to the Church of Christ. You can take the stairs nearby the cave going to the church. It took us approximately 300 steps going up. Afterwhich, have a little walk going to the horse ranch and Jaclupan Dam.
From there, you have to go back to the main road and take a habal-habal going to Tabunok for 15-20 php. Then you take a jeepney going back to Tabuan.
Happy caving everyone! ?
