5 Tips When Going to Swimming Pools or the Beach in Cebu
KnowCebu Beat the Cebu Summer Heat Tips: Five things to keep in mind when going to swimming pools or beaches in Cebu to have a fun time
Cebu is a wonderful city blessed with many resorts that have refreshing swimming pools and fantastic beaches. Now that the summer heat is already basking in the air, what better way to cool ourselves than go to the swimming pools or beaches in Cebu. But before we go out that door and start the trip, there are five important items on our checklist. There are many cases wherein upon arriving at the beach/pool, you pause for a while to marvel at the sight of the place and then once you start unpacking your things, you realize you forgot something. You get upset and that shouldn’t be the mood you should be in while trying to have a nice relaxing time in these recreational destinations.
Tip #1. Consider the Weather
As to any outdoor activity, the weather usually has a say about it. You don’t want to find yourself at the beach in the middle of a typhoon, right? Unless of course you have a surf board. But even so, it’s still somewhat dangerous. So try checking the weather by looking up to the sky and watch for some signs of heavy rain or what have you. Clear and cloudy skies are great for outdoor swimming. The possibly rainy one might not be so good especially if your cottage has little roofing or none at all. Also, if you plan to bring little ones like your baby or toddlers, they might get sick because of the rain. So if you guess that it might rain somehow, make the necessary preparations when going to the swimming pools or beaches in Cebu.
Tip #2. Decide on where to go and make a phone call to the place if possible
The usual trade off among the factors in selecting the desired location are the price and the crowdedness of the place. Lower priced resorts have more people and contrastingly, higher priced have lesser number of people. So if you decide to go to a less pricey resort, it is not uncommon to find yourself in a crowded pool. The opposite goes for the pricey ones. Anyway, it helps a lot if you already have a fixed destination in mind and can make a phone call to that place for a reservation. This will save you time and effort which you can use more to relax and unwind at the venue. Deciding on the place in advance allows you to think up of the shortest way to get to your destination avoiding traffic or unnecessary turns or what have you. It also helps you avoid going outside of your budget since you will already know how much the entrance and cottage fees are and the cost of getting there either by public transportation or using your own vehicle. But if you’re the more adventurous type and have extra time and money to spare, feel free to enjoy going out on impulsive escapades to the swimming pools or beaches in Cebu. Just keep in mind that unplanned escapades like these might be more costly.
Tip #3 Bring Appropriate Swimming Attires (Bring some extras if possible)
There are times that you just tell yourself that you’re not going to go in for a dip in the water and just prefer to lounge around and feel the nice breeze of the place. But more often than not, the cool, inviting look of the water will find its way to your heart’s delight that you will somehow regret not bringing some swimming clothes with you. Moreover, there are times that the swimming pools or beaches in Cebu have a strict policy with regard to swimming attires so you need to bring board shorts for guys and bikinis for gals. If you can bring some extra set of swimming clothes, the better since who knows if your current one might tear or have a hole somewhere or one of your fellow companions might have a need for it.
Tip #4 Bring Utensils, Enough Food, Drinks, Snacks, Inflatables, and Other Things You Might Need
The trip might be long and/or tiresome so the first thing that you and your companions might want to do is eat so better make sure that food is enough for at least 2 meals per person. There are so many delicious food you can bring for the outing. The common ones are pork lechon, lechon manok, liempo, and other grilled delicacies. You can also try finger foods like spicy siomai, crunchy ngohiong, tasty kwek kwek, crispy ginabot, and smoky barbecue. Food sold by the resorts are usually expensive so better bring your baon if you’re watching your budget. Drinking water at the resort might be expensive as well so better bring a galloon of water or more depending on how many your companions are. Plastic cups, spoons, forks, and paper plates are also good to have if you don’t like washing dishes. You need to bring chargers as well in case you have many gadgets and can’t last long without them. Inflatable floats (Salvavida) are also fun to have especially if you have children. Snacks are equally important, don’t you agree?
Tip #5 Be Vigilant of Your Belongings and Stay Safe
Never leave your belongings unattended because you never know the thieving intentions of the people around you. Always have someone keep an eye on your things even if it requires that you and your companions swim in turns so that someone will be left watching over. Children require extra attention and can get drown or slip on the floor easily so please be mindful. Remember accidents can happen any time so stay safe and have fun. Most importantly, pray for a safe and wonderful outing.
