Learning the Basics in Espresso Beverage with Equilibrium Intertrade

For some or a large number of working adults, coffee has become a necessity and a part of their daily routine. To be more specific, I, for one, need coffee in my daily lifestyle or else I’ll feel like a drag and can’t be my 100% in terms of productivity. That’s how coffee is for us, like a battery to kickstart our day.

Last Nov.20, I had the privilege to be invited to attend a Basic Espresso Beverage class with Curve Coffee Collaborators and Equilibrium Trade at Golden Prince Hotel. I had the chance for an actual step-by-step demonstration, elements when making the proper espresso beverage, and:

    1. Espresso Machine part and its function discussion,
    2. Do’s and Don’ts in handling bar tools,
    3. Brew Ratio and Temperature and the importance of it
    4. Coffee Calibration (getting the right and perfect coffee profile and flavours: Did I under-extract or over-extract my coffee?)
    5. Proper milk steaming (guided hands-on in getting the right technique in steaming milk)
    6. Milk-based espresso recipes.

Even with the short session, I had the chance to prepare my own Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino and in the process learned that details such as the coffee beans, how it’s roasted, temperature, and portioning are all important in preparing your coffee. Small details counts and can affect the taste if not done precisely.

No wonder specialty coffees are priced higher than regular coffee. You’re not just drinking a cup of coffee, you’re actually drinking a cup of the art of coffee making!

For your specialty coffee needs, you can contact Curve Coffee Collaborators st their website www.curve.coffee or contact their Facebook page @curvecoffeecollaborators.
