Facebook Philippines’ 1st Facebook Community Boost Event Launched in Cebu

Facebook kicked off the Facebook Community Boost in the Philippines today at Radisson Blu in Cebu City with the support of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Facebook Community Boost is a global initiative that aims to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and skills to keep-up with the new mobile-first market.

The growth and development of social media, especially Facebook, has made it better for MSMEs to compete better and expand its business reach thereby opening new opportunities for growth and profit.

“We’re constantly inspired by what small businesses have been able to achieve using tools on Facebook and our family of apps. We look forward to taking Facebook Community Boost events to four Philippine cities this year starting in Cebu and then in Dumaguete, Manila, and Davao. Our goal is to further support even more MSMEs and communities in their digital transformation journey,” said John Rubio, Country Director, Facebook Philippines.
