5 Tips Check-In A Motel

Let’s Not Keep It A Secret. 5 Tips When You Check-In A Motel!

Our friends have done this. We have done this. We made fun out of the experience. But we never know what we should do because this subject is taboo in our society. So WE listed these 5 Tips When You Check-In A Motel for everyone to know, especially for those who haven’t checked-in in a motel before and for those who have been but didn’t know that there are rules (basically for everyone!)

Tip#1. Bring Your Own Rubber and Other Sanitary Needs.

Make sure that you always have one in your pocket!

Although most motels sell them and make it available inside the room (at the top of the refrigerator for some), they sometimes run out of it. Remember it’s better to be safe than sorry, and to save much money (it’s more expensive if you use the one inside the room)!

Tip#2. Bring Your Own Food.

Yes! Doing it can make you hungry. Motels offer food service but it’s expensive, it’s like your paying for food in a restaurant. The food presentation and even the taste is just similar to your favorite Silogan.

Motels don’t charge any corkage fee. So if you’re going to check-in with your special someone or ‘just someone’, might as well ask the taxi driver or whoever drives the car (‘Naa kay car?’) to go to the nearest drive-thru and order your fave value meal.

Tip#3. Avoid Staring at the People You’ll Meet In the Hallway.

If you encounter a couple or anyone going out of the room, don’t give them the look. The urge to make fun is real (haha) but remember you’ll also do it after you make the deed. Make the ‘Walk of Shame’ bearable. Remember the Golden rule if you don’t want to be judged and made fun of.

Tip#4. Use GRAB.

For those who didn’t know yet, most (if not all) taxis have a special rate when you check-in or check-out of a motel. Some charge Php100 on top of the metered fare when checking in. When you check out, there’s a ‘Taxi Rate List’ posted on the wall beside your bed (Queensland?) showing the rate on how much you should pay the driver. So if you have an internet or data on your phone, download and use the GRAB App so you can just pay the exact fare as shown in the meter. Otherwise, you can always message GRAB and complain if the driver insisted on a different fare.

However, if you don’t have enough funds, you can also check in without necessarily riding a taxi. Just ride a jeepney and stop at the building beside the motel. Then pretend that both of you are casually walking. When you’re near the entrance, RUN and never look back so you can avoid the eyes of the bystanders who are judging you already (Of course they should judge you, you’re already guilty of being about to do the deed)!

Tip#5. Don’t Use The Complimentary Soap!

This is a tip I learned from a friend, most motels usually use ‘Bioderm’ soap as their complimentary soap. And we all know that Bioderm has this ‘specific’ or signature smell. If you don’t want to be caught checking in or you’ve been in a motel, don’t use the soap.

As an alternative, use the toothpaste. It will still give you that clean feel minus the smell.
